Belmont Abbey College is a small, Catholic, Benedictine liberal arts institution. We find our center in Jesus Christ, and believe in the development of the whole person — in mind, body and spirit. Founded in 1876 in Belmont, NC by Benedictine monks, we continue to celebrate the 1,500-year old Benedictine monastic tradition of prayer and learning. We’re driven by the pursuit of the true, the good and the beautiful in all that we do—in the classroom, in our social activities and on the competitive field. Through our liberal arts core curriculum, our students are led to explore the possibilities so that they may discern the purpose for their lives.
