  • This is a message to smile at each other, take time out for each other and don't forget God.

  • I think you should keep your marriage a priority. Couples with biological children need to put their marriage first too. They say the best thing you can do for your children is love your spouse. It would not be healthy to sacrifice your marriage to be a Mom.

  • My brother and his wife were not able to have children, and they began by fostering a young boy with special needs. He was about 5-6, I think, and they were just 40/early 40s. They have since adopted this boy, and he is doing well. Not to say it has been without issues--there have been struggles, but they meet each challange as it comes, with faith and prayer. Based on watching them, I would say it can be done, if both of you are on the same page about it. There is no doubt demands for your time will change--any child will do that--but it can all be worked with if you are willing to do it.

  • Unknown - We struggled with fertility before finally getting pregnant in our late 30s. I seriously debated this very issue many times in my head. Since infant adoption is so difficult, I seriously debated the idea of adopting an older child. I never had to make that decision. We did finally get pregnant, but I am not sure I could have done it. I'd like to say I would have the courage to enter down such a difficult road, but I'm not sure I could have in the end. I think that if you pray about it and feel called to it, it could be extremely rewarding. I will pray for your decision!
