  • This is so why I came home to the Catholic church. I too was around 21 years of age and felt that something was missing. Life was good, there was much to look forward to, but still something was missing. One day I decided to walk into St. Timothy for mass. Not only did I feel Christ's presence as I went into the church, but that day it was as if the homily was written just for me. It spoke to that emptiness we feel when we are separated from God that nothing else can fill and how living a faithful life makes us complete. A coincidence? I think not. I approached the priest a few months later to ask about coming back to my Catholic faith (my mother had divorced and remarried and so through my pre-teen and teen years we attended an Anglican church where I had been confirmed). I joined the RCIA classes, where everyone was always welcoming and supportive. Sure there have been parishes I haven't felt that, but usually it was because I was not yet "involved" in parish life there and as soon as I stepped forward again felt welcomed.
