  • Very well said on all points. I think it's just our 'fallen nature' that makes us so quick to judge others. I accept your challenge to do better today. Keep blogging my 'friend.' Blessings

  • I will be a hypocrite if I will say I haven't done that in the past....but that was when am so young and was so particular bout cleanliness in someone's appearance. But as I grow older and became more exposed to people I have learned to tolerate other's unclean appearance. But I can say am so discreet bout it back then. But after highschool (in the province), and enrolled in college in one of the universities in Manila, I got exposed to different characters... and I was able to adjust my cossetted highschool life. I was blessed to be included in the "in crowd" since, although am a little shy in my younger years. And before I came to the US am still enjoying being in the "in crowd", got many good friends and am enjoying being popular in the office and outside. But now, here in the US I feel different. I am a Filipina, and am proud to be a Filipina, but sometimes I feel worried that I will be categorized like the other Filipinas (those who were astray, am sure you understand what I mean) and I feel I don't belong. There are many Americans who don't even know anything bout the Philippines, and most of them are thinking that Filipinas are marrying Americans only for money, and that they are uneducated and came from very poor families in the Philippines. Even in applying for jobs here in the US, although they were saying that there's no descrimination, still my feeling is... employers are having second thoughts in employing a Filipina in their offices. And with that in mind I feel am an outsider, an onlooker, but am trying not to feel that way. And am so thankful for my St. Patrick family for accepting me as a member of their parish. But still I feel sometimes that I really don't belong, they are just very kind and accommodating, and I thank God for that.
