Why doesn’t God answer my prayers?

Marguerite you ask very good and difficult questions. I think many people have asked these questions. I can only shed a small light on the why's for some of these questions. I think it greatly pains God that these happen. I believe that the 10 Commandments that God gave us to live are the guidelines for preventing this behavior. God also gave us a free will to make the choices to live by the Commandments. People that don't live by the Commandments cause these things to happen. At every moment in time we have a choice to make, each one of us. I don't know if that helps you but that is how I understand why these things can happen.

I'm having questions for God that keep me up at night. Why does a child, who is being raped or just about to be murdered and cries out for help to God, not being helped by God and dies? Why does God let that happen, even though the child prays and calls out to God for help? Why does an innocent child have to die of starvation even though the mother prays for God to intervene? Why did so many children die in the genocide in Rwanda for example although many of them were devout Catholics and prayed for God to help them? These things are troubling me so much. Please explain - I would greatly appreciate it. Kindest regards, Marguerite Williams
