Re: Scapular. I didn't grow up in the Catholic religion but I married into this religion with my husband in theology. I had a lot of questions, he didn't have all the answers but we went to church until he was too sick from cancer to go. A nurse brought him a scapular when he was in ICU. I didn't know what it was. After he died I looked it up and talked to my priest. It is a blessing in itself. It doesn't matter if you are catholic, Christian, non Christian, atheist, or any other religion. The words on the Scapular include everyone, even the ignorant as mentioned in the bible. It states very clearly that it is the Garment of Salvation and Whosoever dies wearing it shall not suffer eternal fire. It's not something I would pass out at a federal prison but for my husband and my grandpa it is their ticket to heaven with the mother. My husband's mother died from Alzheimer's just 6 hours before he died from cancer. Scott was wearing a scapular so he went to heaven with 2 mothers. I gave that same scapular to my grandpa today. Nobody can tell me scapular doesn't mean anything.
