For over a decade, the pastor at St. Thomas More Church in Chicago has been giving at least that many gift subscriptions of Catholic Digest to the people in his parish. Last year he gave 241.
“He gives them to [everyone] he knows,” says Kathy Siniawski, parish secretary.

A pastor for 64 years, Frawley developed a love for Catholic Digest while at the seminary he attended. His first Catholic Digest gift was a lifetime subscription he gave to his parents. Frawley doesn’t just like a particular section or column, he enjoys reading it all the way through, Siniawski says.
Frawley has been generous with his time as well. According to friend and altar server Jim Farrell, “Father Frawley’s flock is made up of hundreds, if not thousands of people.” Farrell says he drives the pastor throughout the parish visiting those who are homebound or in need of a special ceremony outside the walls of St. Thomas More.
Four years ago, it was Farrell who was on the receiving end of Father Frawley’s grace.
His mother was battling cancer and Farrell and his siblings asked him to say Mass with her at her bedside.
Father Frawley “showed up with his Mass kit and proceeded to say a beautiful Mass for my mother,” Farrell recalls. “Since then, I have come to know and love him as a wonderful example of the Good Shepherd of his flock.”
